What We Do

We offer our knowledge and expertise to government agencies, donor agencies, private sector and local communities in the areas of (i) local and sub-national development planning and budgeting, (ii) community-driven development and (ii) micro and small enterprises development.

Work in the above three domain areas is accomplished by us through production of credible data, information and knowledge. We define data as statement of fact; information is the context given to the data with reference to the subject socioeconomic development theme; and knowledge is why and how of the data.

We provide our knowledge services through consulting, research and training.

Our ACE programme – Access to Capital for Enterprises – invokes a social business approach aimed at linking micro and small enterprises in rural area and small urban towns to mainstream financial institutions, together with capacity building of these client enterprises.  A key feature of the ACE model entails building capacity of MSEs to develop their business plan and investment risk analysis and packaging their financing application for submission to mainstream financial institutions for funding in the form of loan, hire purchase or lease finance. The business dimension of the ACE model allows the programme to generate revenues through “service fee” that our beneficiary clients must pay.

More information on our ACE model is available in the ACE page of the website.
